Terms of Service
Effective July 14, 2026 · applies to the Meeemo app (v0.4 and later) and meeemo.com
These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and Meeemo ("we"), the independent developer of the Meeemo app. By downloading or using the app, or buying a license, you agree to them. Questions first: bugs@meeemo.com.
1. What Meeemo is
Meeemo is a macOS notes and todo application. It stores your data as plain Markdown files on your Mac, works offline, and includes a command-line tool and agent skill so AI assistants you run can read and write your notes locally.
2. Free tier
You can use Meeemo free of charge within the free tier's limits (currently 3 notes, 1 todo list, and 5 open comments, plus the features listed on the pricing page). Files you've already created always stay readable and editable, even over quota. We may adjust what the free tier includes for future versions, but we won't remotely take away access to your existing files.
3. Your Pro license
A Pro license is a one-time purchase. It grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Meeemo Pro on the Macs you personally own and use. It is not a subscription: the price you pay once is the whole price, and updates to the app are included. If we ever release a separately paid major upgrade, the version you bought keeps working with everything you paid for.
License keys may be subject to a reasonable activation limit to prevent abuse. You can deactivate a machine you no longer use to free a slot, or email us and we'll sort it out.
4. Payments
Purchases are processed by Creem as merchant of record. Creem handles checkout, payment methods, invoices, and applicable taxes under its own terms. Your license key is delivered by email after checkout.
5. Refunds
If Meeemo isn't for you, email bugs@meeemo.com within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund you in full, no questions asked. Refunded license keys are deactivated.
6. License keys — fair play
Don't share, resell, publish, or generate license keys, and don't circumvent the app's license enforcement. We may deactivate keys that are leaked, resold, or obtained fraudulently. (The free tier exists so nobody has to pirate a notepad.)
7. Your content
Your notes are yours, full stop. They live on your disk (and in sync locations you control); we claim no rights over them, and we never receive them. Because the data is plain Markdown in your own folder, you can stop using Meeemo at any time and keep everything.
8. Acceptable use
Use the app lawfully. Don't redistribute modified or unmodified builds of the commercial app, and don't reverse engineer it except where the law expressly permits. Output produced by your own AI agents operating on your files is your responsibility.
9. Third-party services
Optional features rely on services you bring: iCloud Drive (Apple), GitHub sync (GitHub), and checkout (Creem). Those services have their own terms, and we're not responsible for their availability or behavior.
10. About the old open-source version
Meeemo v0.3 and earlier were released under the GPL and remain available under that license wherever validly obtained. These terms apply to the commercial app, v0.4 and later.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
Meeemo is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We work hard on data safety (conflict copies instead of overwrites, plain files, no lock-in), but you are responsible for keeping backups of your data.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the app or this site. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us for the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Termination
You can stop using Meeemo at any time; your files remain yours. We may terminate your license if you materially breach these terms (for example, reselling keys), with a refund at our discretion. Sections 7 and 11–15 survive termination.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves; the current version always lives at meeemo.com/terms with its effective date. Material changes will be noted on this page. Changes never take away a lifetime license you already bought.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and disputes go to the courts of Singapore, unless the consumer-protection law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived — those remain yours.
